Bluff is a deep sea & fishing Port, home of the world famous oyster and steeped in history. Our Maritime Museum has well documented archives for you to view along with many other interesting relics of the past. Check out the Maritime museum site on bluff.co.nz We are 20mins from Invercargill and the gateway to Stewart Island, stop for the night with us travel to Stewart Island for a day trip another night with us then next morning head off refreshed. We are well catered for, excellent restaurants for those who enjoy seafood, supermarket, gift shops, post office, and of course, fish & chip shop. Bush & Coastal walks are excellent you can take a gentle stroll or those who feel they need a good workout it is all there for you. Bluff is the home of Fred & Myrtles Paua Shell House.

Bluff Hill has panoramic views out over Foveaux Strait and the Southland area. The viewing platform is full of information, built from local granite There is plenty to see & do in Bluff but if you want to totally unwind just sitting around at Stirling Point under the signpost watching the boats come & go will relax anyone.
